League City is one of the best cities in Galveston County. Some historians and archaeologists believe around 8000 B.C., Native Americans were the first to live in the area. The first town resident was George W. Butler arriving from Louisiana in 1873. This community was known as Butlers Ranch or Clear Creek, until 1893 when J.C League acquired the land from Micheal Muldoon, an Irish Catholic priest and a member of Steven F. Austin’s “Old 300” colony.
League City is situated between Houston and Galveston. Some amenities that League City offers are the private golf courses of Magnolia Creek and South Shore Harbor and the public course Beacon Lakes.
